EMT Skills Verification
What is EMT Skills Verification?
EMT Skills Verification is a required step in renewing your EMT license every two years. During this process the EMT must demonstrate competency in the 10 skills listed on the State of California Skills Competency Verification Form 7.1.17 which can be viewed by clicking the link below:

The verification appointment includes the training and a Continuing Education Certificate for the Epinephrine, Narcan, and Glucometer skills.
​How to Make a Skills Verification Appointment:
Skills Verification Appointments are generally offered Monday-Friday and can be made through text (preferred), email or by calling the number below: ​

Individual Appointment Cost & Times:
Mon - Fri Appointments: Individual skills verification appointments are $95.00
Sat & Sun Appointments: Individual appts are available, but have an additional cost of $30.00 for a total appointment cost of $125.00
Need an Urgent or Off-Hours Appt?: Last minute appointments may be available with an additional fee of $30-50
Appointment Time Frames:
Individual Appointments should take no longer than 90 minutes.​ If additional time is needed for tutoring and review an additional fee of $25 per every 30 min will be charged.
LATE ARRIVAL FEE
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late will be subject to a $15 late fee. Arriving 20 minutes last can result in appt cancellation.
Group Appointments:
Price discounts are available for group appointments. Please scroll to bottom of this page for group and military discount information.
* Appointments can also be made at an office/station location of the client's choice as long as the location has an adequate quiet/private space such as a conference or training room. An additional fee will be required based on travel time. Appointments at private residences will not be allowed.

What happens if you fail to show competency during your skills verification?
​Those who fail to show competency during the skills verification appointment will still be charged a service fee for the meeting time. The service fee is $60.00 (approx. 60% of the skills appointment fee). A reattempt for your skills verification needs to be scheduled within 30 days of your first appointment in order to receive a discounted price for the second appointment. A second appointment for a Skills Verification is $70.00.
NREMT Skills Sheets and Study Material:
It is highly recommended that you study and review your EMT skills prior to your Skills Verification Appointment so the process goes smoothly and quickly. The NREMT Skills sheets and additional study material are available for download below. As stated above, a Skills Verification appointment should take no longer than 90 minutes. If additional tutoring and review are needed during your appointment you may be subject to an additional tutoring charges ($25/hr). The Skills Verification process is less formal that the NREMT Skills Exam, however you must show competency with all skills listed on the County Skills Form. Copies of NREMT Skills Sheets are below as well as some other valuable study guides. Again, it is vital that you study and review before your appointment to avoid additional time and charges.
